Help with name meanings? (Hindi, Southeast Asian languages, Arabic, African)?

I need to know the meaning of several names or of words that resemble the following names:

Lady jaan - (does jaan mean life in some language...?)

Haroun

Hameeda

Lalita

Maya

Nayan Tara

Ahuja

Geeta

Kwesi

Jagjit

African, Arabic, Southeast Asian roots of the names are very likely, so I'm hoping that speakers of such languages can help... ?

Thanks.

Help with name meanings? (Hindi, Southeast Asian languages, Arabic, African)?
Lalita - variety, beauty

Maya - illusion

Jaan, in Hindi/Urdu, a word meaning life or loved one; by that way, also a term of affection meaning "darling"

Nayantara - iris

Geeta - sacred Hindu book, music

Ahuja - reader * not sure though
Reply:Haroun is the Arabic form of Aaron (it's a male name).

Hameeda is an Arabic female name and it means 'giving thanks'
Reply:Kwesi is a "nickname" for a man "born on Sunday". It's in Ashanti/Twi/Akan. Ask someone from Ghana. They'll tell you the same.
Reply:Lalita means a lady who is beautiful and artistic

Maya means string of affection

Nayan tara means eyeball----also it means very close and dear person

Jagjit means who conquered whole world

pitcher plant
